No trip to Vancouver would be complete without seeing Stanley Park. It’s a thousand acres of restful tree-lined landscape in the midst of a bustling city. The Seawall is perfect for city and suburb views, too. And the forest is always good for a jog or a picnic. Totem poles will welcome you to the area. Imagine the Native hands that built them and let your mind wander back to an simpler time. There are also restaurants and an aquarium when your daydreaming is finished.

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, while not for those with a fear of heights, is great for those with a sense of architectural wonder and style. It hovers about 230 feet over the rushing Capilano River. The beautiful natural scenery will calm your senses and enhance your trip to beautiful British Columbia. There are seven other bridges here, too, so get ready for some serious walks in serious beauty. Adrenaline junkies will appreciate the adventure opportunities, too.

Vancouver Aquarium

Like fish? Of course you do. And BC has them in abundance, from all over the world. Home to 50,000 animals, Vancouver Aquarium is a fabulous trip. Sea otters delight, jellyfish amaze, and penguins waddle to make you laugh. Chester the false killer whale will visit you from behind his glass, too.

Grouse Mountain

Vancouver has nature! Grouse Mountain offers mountain scenery a short drive away if you want to get away from the city for a bit. It’s about 15 minutes away, and well worth your time. Skiing in the winter, hiking in the summer, a gondola ride, and even a lumberjack show. What’s not to love? Oh, and grizzly bears. They’re there, too.

The Museum of Anthropology

This amazing place houses one of the best exhibitions of First Nations art in the entire world. Appreciate its wisdom, peace, and beauty, as well as the city’s landscapes. Totem poles (they’re all over the city) will tower above, creating a sense of reverence. Enjoy the gift store, children’s shows, and the richness of Canada’s Pacific Northwest.

From the Air

Want a birds-eye-view? You can have it. Check out FlyOver Canada or Harbour Air. Both will fly you around the city, though in different ways. FlyOver is a flight simulator ride, and Harbour Air is an actual flight. Either way, adventure and beauty are close by.
